Our firm had the privilege to collaborate with the esteemed EVOQ Architecture on a significant project: developing a comprehensive graphic charter for the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation. The core aim of this undertaking was to establish a distinct and powerful visual identity for their ancestral territory, thereby strengthening the recognition and connection to its natural, cultural, and historical elements.
This project was a deeply collaborative effort, involving continuous, respectful dialogue with representatives of the Wolastoqey culture, whose traditional knowledge and wisdom were invaluable, as well as with EVOQ's landscape architects. The culmination of this synergy is a vital and detailed guide that will strategically inform all future design decisions for the territory's identity elements, ensuring unparalleled coherence and authenticity.
Building upon the foundation of this identity graphic charter, we subsequently developed a dedicated signage charter. This crucial instrument will guide all future signage projects and, more broadly, user orientation within the extensive outdoor spaces of the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation. It was meticulously designed to enable the creation of distinctive and emblematic elements that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. The objective is to facilitate intuitive navigation for users and visitors, offering them an immersive experience that helps them explore this historically rich and meaningful ancestral territory with clarity and confidence, while simultaneously reinforcing their connection to the Wolastoqey culture.

Building upon the foundations of this brand identity guide, we then adapted and developed it into a dedicated signage guide. This signage guide serves as a crucial tool for the development of all future signage projects and, more broadly, for user wayfinding within the vast outdoor spaces of the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation. It was designed to enable the creation of distinctive and iconic elements that are not only visually appealing but also highly functional, which will facilitate wayfinding for users and visitors. The goal is to provide them with an immersive and intuitive experience, helping them navigate with clarity and confidence within this ancestral territory, rich in history and significance, while strengthening their connection to Wolastoqey culture.
